Definitely high quality MDF and well made. Hardware is much better quality and didn't have any issues with screws getting stripped. The cam locks locked everything into place really well. We installed into a closet nook to create a mud room and will anchor into the wall. I definitely don't think I would use this freestanding as the back does wiggle a bit since the brackets on the back only go partway up. As other reviewers commented, the very top piece wasn't pre-drilled so getting those wood screws in I would drill in some small pilot holes. Easy build, even easier with two people.. Nina. Fantastic! We purchased these for our dance studio’s locker room. They’re excellent! They were a bit of a pain to assemble, things weren’t lining up, I had a friend help me out, and we just made it work. Well worth it. These have made our locker room more stylish, and practical!
