I replaced a bigger fireplace (same BTS’s) but the box is smaller than the one that I had. I really like it although when I purchased it the remote did not work...I contacted the company that made the remote they sent me a new remote although that one didn’t work either, I then tried to call the company that manufactured the fireplace and they instructed me to send an email with a detailed explanation of my problem......1 and a half years later I still have not heard from them. Today is first day and we are very impressed so far! We are under construction, and we had it professionally installed for under 300 dollars. It throws an amazing amount of heat and easily and quickly heats our 900 sq ft family room as well as adjoining rooms. The thermostat option on the remote works well. The heat is a cozy fireplace heat. The only negative is unfortunately a necessary evil. Your initial hour or so of burn time is going to stink. This is normal due to paint and what not burning off. It clears, just crack a window. I will be ordering a second remote as I’m sure we will lose ours. The unit can be manually operated but not on a thermostat control mode without remote.
