Customers are mixed about the fit of the storage unit. Some mention it fits perfectly in their space and is more lightweight than they were expecting. It can hold their entire household for, while others say it's a little small and works perfect for a family of 4. The pieces don't fit or the holes aren't drilled properly. The space between the middle section and the short side section is very narrow, and the labels are very small and hard to read.
"...bought a set of pillows to put on the benches and so they are soft and comfy. The table is not really heavy but feels sturdy...." Read more
"I'll start with the good. It fits nicely in our kitchen. I like the length, the style, and it can hold our entire household for dinner and main meals..." Read more

"...This one fits perfect in my home. I love the storage under the bench seat. They're great for tablecloths and place mats (nothing heavy)...." Read more
Customers find the holes in the home furniture and decor to be inadequate and missing. They say the holes for the screws are smaller than the actual screws, making assembly difficult. Some customers also mention that the holes are drilled precisely, but some customers need to turn the hole around so the screw goes in. Overall, customers say the product is difficult to assemble and requires more work than expected.

Recommendations:
1. TWO PEOPLE build. I’m pretty handy and love building things but I tried to get the main corner bench seats together alone and it involved sooo many house hold items to prop up to the right height it was a mess lol.
2. Before building consider putting a stronger clear finish on the table, it’s cheap wood & it will scratch very quickly kids or not.
3. Check instructions before building...rookie mistake here but I got to the table build and noticed 3 pages were just a reprint of how to build the main corner bench seats & instead of instructions for table & solo bench (I’ll update how seller responds to my request for instructions)
4. For us, drilling the holes before screws wasn’t necessary to complete but likely would’ve made it easier. Again this is cheap wood, a slight drop/slip of a piece in the wrong direction while screwing something in will likely split the wood.
I have seen complaints from people on assembly - complaints about splitting wood and holes not drilled deep anough. These people did not do their assembly job correctly. It is a difficult assembly for the nook - will take a half day and two people - and it takes an exacting mind. Anyone who tries to wing it is doomed to fail.
If you already read the prior reviews, here's the truth on assembly and here's the fake news:
Truth:
1) There's a chemical smell. Air it out. Even if you don't, it'll eventually fade away. It 'aint dangerous and it doesn't detract from the item.
2) You need two people to assemble the nook (assembling the table and bench is a one-man job).
3) The instructions are fine, but the labeling of the pieces could be moire explicit.
4) Each piece is supposed to fit flush. If it doesn't fit flush, you screwed something up. Back up, turn whatever piece is not flush the other way, and try again - I bet it'll fit flush the "other" way. Similarly, if you hear your screw make a bad sound or not go as deep as it's supposed to go, you are doing something wrong. Back up., and try again.
5) It took us 3-4 hours for the nook, including backing out some steps and going again. Once the nook was done, the table and bench took under an hour.
Fake News:
1) the pieces don't fit/the holes aren't drilled properly - MALE COW EXCREMENT - every single screw and hole fits perfectly .... with one important caveat.
2) The pieces have to be turned in the correct direction. You have to screw into the exact right hole. Sometimes, even though it seems like it doesn't matter which way you turn the piece to be put together next, you will have to turn the piece around.
The hole is drilled precisely, so you need to turn it around so the screw goes in correctly OR the piece needs to be turned the other way so that the next piece fits correctly.
3) My point is, DO NOT get new screws and start trying to do it yourself outside the instructions cause you think you know better. None of the pieces split - NOT ONE SINGLE PIECE - unless you did something incorrectly. As long as you keep turning pieces around to make sure the right screw is going into the right hole and each piece, after being screwed, fits FLUSH (not kinds flush - not flush if you screw it harder - but easily FLUSH), it'll go together perfectly.
4) If any piece of wood splits,. it's YOUR FAULT. You screwed something up along the way because you weren't careful to make sure each piece fit flush and you weren't willing to back out and re-do correctly.
Anyway, once correctly assembled, the piece is beautiful. Easy to clean, easy to use, and the centerpiece of our family breakfast.
A YEAR LATER: the table does have some significant scratches, but because my daughter gouged it with a fork. The other scratches are just over time wear and tear. Overall it’s holding up great and I’m very happy still.

If you read the other reviews, you'll see that some mention that you should pre-drill the already pre-drilled holes again. I mis-read this and thought it was just to make the holes deeper, but they need to be WIDER otherwise the MDF will split and crack (which is exactly what happened to me). So find a drill bit that's one size wider than the already drilled holes and bore it out a bit more. I would also recommend gluing the unit together as we found that it is VERY loud to sit on (lots of creaking all the time, whenever you sit or move in your seat). But don't glue the three sections together, otherwise you won't be able to get it out of the house. You'll probably need to take it apart to move it unless you have a clear shot out the door.
I also found that some of the smaller screws wouldn't quite bite, like the ones that hold the top bar/strips on the top of the back benches on. Not sure if the screw hole wasn't wide enough for the screw or what, but I'll probably have to drill out some other holes and use some better screws to hold those in.
But the worst part was the pre-drilled holes on the centre/angled section to install the back board. When I assembled the three sections together, I couldn't get the angled back board to meet up with the predrilled holes on each side of the other bench sections because it wouldn't go in far enough. So I loosened up the screws that connected the sections together, pushed in the angled back board enough so the screws would meet their pilot holes, but when I tried to tighten the scews that held the three sections together again, the backing board acted as a wedge and caused the bench partitions to bend, which left a gap at the back of seat where the sections connect, and causes the door on the seats to rub when opened. It essentially warped the entire bench when it was tightened up. This is a design flaw as I tried to move the angled backing board back so it wasn't so tight, but then you would be able to see the pilot holes, so I decided to go with the gaps/warp and live with it.
Then to finish it off, you're supposed to hammer in some cheap, painted wood plugs over the visible screw holes. DO NOT USE THESE!! Seriously, when they're hammered in (I even used cardboard and a rubber mallet) they compress and break apart, then the paint flakes everywhere and it damages the board a bit due to pressure because they're so oversized. They just look horrible and you won't be able to get them out. Try to find plastic plugs online, or even just use a wet tissue as ANYTHING would look better than this. I wish I didn't.
Overall, disappointed in the quality and design for the price.
