Seat is soft yet on a hard base. Chair looks nice although mine came with a stain on the front that I haven't been able to get off. It is a slightly higher chair at about 19" from seat top to floor which is what I wanted but not quite as high as stated in weight & dimensions description. I did the ash grey and it looks nice. It is a "narrower" chair which works really well for us and we love that about it. When sitting on it the front does scrunch down a bit which you can see in the picture and that is after only 2 days. it makes it not look as good. Not the best chair we've bought from Wayfair. We went with the navy blue. I was worried they would be too dark but the blue is beautiful. The wooden legs aren’t as dark brown in person. As others said they’re not a good chair to curl up and read a book or watch a show in. They’re firmer but it seems more supportive and I prefer it that way. The arm rest do sit lower so you do have to lean to the side if you want to use it. ***the table is from the Kelly Clarkson collection. Beautiful color and the right size for my smaller space. This chair was easy to assemble in about 20 mins. My only complaint is the cushion is very firm to hard. I’m hoping it breaks in over time! Update: 8/16/20 I still love this chair! The color is "Turquoise Blue Textured Herringbone" and the photo is true to color. The cushions have broken in a little, and I find the chair firm but quite comfortable. It's my morning coffee chair :-) The only complaint I have is that the back is a little loose now and has some play in it. I have to figure out how to tighten that. . Nancy. Very nice and sturdy chair. The colors are wonderful and would match many decor styles. Easy to assemble, just screw on the legs. Please try to keep the chair level so that it will screw on clean, otherwise you may have to do it numerous times. I would have given it 5 stars, but it had a very obnoxious chemical smell when I opened the box. I left in in an unused room and the smell subsided.
